Thanks to eliminating processed foods and eating more fruits and veggies and limiting fats and meat I have lost exactly two pounds this week. I feel lighter but have more to go...time to add some movement :)
Now the great news...went to the doctors with dad today and from the moment the doctor spoke, it sounded positive and hopeful. We were told that yes there is a large mass on dad's pancreas, about 5cm (2 in), but he is not convinced it's cancerous. He showed us the images and we could see that there were some small spots that looked dark (dense) but the majority was a lighter grey. The lighter color made the doctor believe that it's some kind of fluid pockets. He told us of a few things that it may be, but of course he can't rule out the cancer until the biopsy. The doctors face and body language seemed positive, which gave us so much hope and relief. We walked out of that office with such an intense energy that was like a huge cloud was lifted and the sun came out again! After this visit, I now see the difference between a regular doctor and a specialist. Dads regular doctor told him that she is 99% sure the mass is cancer and it looks very dense. She pretty much is the reason why dad figured this was it. That just showed that she didn't know how to read the images fully and the specialist certainly does. After this, I will never think the worse when a doctor tells what's going on...instead I will wait to see what the specialist has to say. That is why the pay those guys the big bucks :) So, dad should be getting a call Monday or Tuesday to set up an appointment for the biopsy, which will be done here in Sacramento. Fingers crossed that it's all good!
